Hiking tour along the Laranza round trail

This comfortable round tour near Castelrotto takes us to the “Königswarte” (King’s View) viewpoint

Our hiking tour starts in Telfen, a hamlet between Castelrotto and Siusi. After a first section on an asphalted road we take the forest road towards the sports field, which we pass, and hike towards the King's View, the highlight of this round tour. It is dedicated to Frederick Augustus III of Saxony, who often came here to enjoy the beautiful panorama. Also the Frederick Augustus Trail on the Alpe di Siusi is dedicated to him.

We enjoy the view on the Rovereto Ruin in Sant'Osvaldo, the little St Verena Church on the opposite side of the Valle Isarco, the entire Renon highplateau and of course Mt Sciliar. On a very clear day one can even see Mt Ortles and the Oetztal Alps. Those of you who would like to learn more about the forest, can follow the 1 km long Mushroom Path. This theme path tells interesting facts and curiosities about mushrooms and their importance for people and nature.

With its light ascents, well-maintained trails and beautiful woods this is a very pleasant and easy walking tour through the forest of Laranza between Castelrotto and Siusi allo Sciliar. Moreover, the Laranza circular hike is very suitable for families, especially in spring, summer and autumn.
