Hiking tour on the Farm Trail of Aica - offers nearby:

The Farm Trail of Aica, also known as "Oachner Höfeweg" in German, owes its name to the dialect village name "Oacha". This route in the municipality of Fiè allo Sciliar is one of the most spectacular itineraries of the area, especially in spring and autumn.

We start in the village of Presule where you can also find a car park and a bus stop. The initial section passes the farms of Novale di Presule and Aica di Sotto. Then, the path leads through forests and meadows. Some stretches along the path to Aica di Fiè, which we take, run along the road before returning to the signposted "Farm Trail of Aica". The natural landscape above the Val di Tires is characterised by broadleaved forests wich chestnut trees, meadows and vineyards.

We also make a side trip to visit the village of Aica di Fiè, as well as the St. John church with its stunning frescoes before heading to Santa Caterina where the trail ends. From there, we return to the fork near the Schnaggenkreuz, a pass at 1,015 m a.s.l. where we take the itinerary back to Presule. Along the final kilometre we enjoy impressive panoramic views of the villages of Fiè di Sopra and Sotto, Peterbühl and Umes.
