This family hike takes us to the pastures and mountain huts of Fiè at the foot of the Sciliar massif (2,563 m a.s.l.) and to the Pond of Fiè

Along the road between Fiè allo Sciliar and Umes we follow the signpost to the historic Moarmüller mill (1,050 m a.s.l.) and the car park, our starting point. Initially, we walk along path no. 8 for a few hundred metres until we arrive at the bridge above the Rio di Fiè. From here on we follow path no. 2 to the Laghetto di Fiè. After a 15-minute walk we are at the lake where we stop for a coffee break at the Hotel Waldsee before making the tour of the lake.
Then, we take path no. 1B, a well-maintained, slightly ascending forest path made by many families with children and baby carriages. Malga Tuff at 1,280 m a.s.l. lies on a verdant meadow at the foot of the Sciliar and is a family-friendly refreshment point. After a short break we continue along path no. 8B through the forest. We cross the bridge above the Rio Fiè and then head towards the "Migg Höhle" (signpost), a cave where the hermit Franz Migg used to live in the previous century.
We reach the Hoferalpl (path no. 8) at 1,360 m a.s.l. where an alphorn group is giving a concert. We tackle the steep descent by taking the paths 3, 8A and 8 and walk for another 40 minutes before arriving at our destination. The final section delights us with impressive panoramic views of the Sciliar, the panoramic viewpoint Volsegg and the villages of Fiè allo Sciliar, Umes and Presule.
