At the municipal border of Fiè allo Sciliar, Cornedo all’Isarco and Tires al Catinaccio, there is the village of Briè.
In calm and low-lying position, there is the village of Briè, at an altitude of 655 m, surrounded by meadows and green woods. The hamlet is located at the border of the municipalities of Cornedo all'Isarco, Tires al Catinaccio and Fié allo Sciliar in the lower Tires valley. Relaxing in nature is absolutely easy in the village, as it is located close to the Catinaccio Group. Within easy reach is also the hiking area of Alpe di Siusi with the legendary Sciliar. Ideal places for regaining ones' strength.
Worth mentioning is the little St Catherine Chapel, dating back to 1283 AD. On the outer facade of the Gothic church, there are 10 wall paintings, illustrating the legend of Saint Catherine of Alexandria. Only a stone's throw from Briè, there is also the hamlet of Bagni di Lavina Bianca, situated at 1,200 m a.s.l. This place is a former health spa, the spring water of which still today is used in traditional baths. In the 19th and 20th century this place flourished thanks to its distinctive mountain climate. Nowadays, in the settlement at the entrance of the Ciamin valley, there is the Sciliar-Catinaccio visitor centre.
