The Alpe di Siusi in the Sciliar-Catinaccio nature park is characterised by stunning natural landscapes. In order to preserve the environment the road to the Alpe di Siusi is closed to the traffic every day from 9 am to 5 pm. In this time slot the high plateau is accessible only by cable car or bus. Residents and the guests staying in one of the accommodation facilities on the Alpe di Siusi are excluded from the restriction. The road is open to the traffic during the closing periods of the cable car from November to early December and from April to late May.

The Alpe di Siusi cable car is one of the most modern cable cars in Europe. The valley station lies in Siusi allo Sciliar in the vicinity of the Matschnsäge sawmill (Via Sciliar, 39). The lift covers the 4.4 km long run with 800 metres of altitude difference in 15 minutes.

Near the valley station you can find an extensive car park for private cars and buses. A shuttle service connects the villages of Castelrotto, Fiè, Siusi and Passo Pinei to the valley station of the cable car. The Dolomiti SuperSummer Card, the Seiser Alm Card Gold and a Combi Card are valid for the lift facility as well.
