This circular path in Siusi follows the tracks of the minstrel Oswald von Wolkenstein

This family hike, which is unfortunately not suitable for baby carriages, starts at the valley station of the Alpe di Siusi cable car at 1,400 m a.s.l. From here, a well-visible paved road leads to the starting point of the theme path towards south-west. Renovated in 2021, the theme path features 15 installations and an information panel showing the circular itinerary which can be completed in a 2-hour walk. After a few minutes of walking through the forest, we reach the Salego Castle ruins (Salegg) from where we enjoy a view of the village of Siusi before continuing to the Castelvecchio Ruin (Hauenstein).
Along the path we discover interesting information on the famous minstrel, the Middle Ages and on the Sciliar - Catinaccio nature park. The dragon Sigi is a highlight for children as he hides in different points along the route. Immerse yourself into the past.
We climb to Castelvecchio and stop for a short break. Then, we head towards Bagni di Ratzes (Bad Ratzes) by remaining on the Oswald von Wolkenstein path which then leads towards the valley station of the Alpe di Siusi cable car. Along the path the traces of the heavy thunderstorms that hit the area in 2021 are still visible, however, the itinerary itself is in good condition.
After about three hours, of which two hours of walking time we return to the starting point at the valley station of the Alpe di Siusi cable car.
