The Colle of Castelrotto is a small hill in the vicinity of the eponymous village and a well-known recreational area. The Peace Trail of Castelrotto was set up in 2001 by some teachers of the "Leo Santifaller" middle school. It is equipped with 14 stations decorated with peace symbols. The route is accessible either from the skittles field on the hill, or from the Föstlbach brook.
The starting point of our hike is the main square of Castelrotto. We walk past the right arch of the town hall and former residence of the Lords of Kraus and head towards the Colle. There, we tackle some steps and pass two chapels before arriving at the flat skittles field.
Now we are right at the start of the Castelrotto Peace Trail where 14 stations made of porphyry layers show peace-related symbols and themes. The highest point of our walk is at 1,099 m a.s.l.
