Today’s hike starts in San Cipriano and leads us to the Wuhnleger lake, a popular panoramic point which delights us with a stunning view of the Catinaccio

Our winter walk starts at the marvellous St. Cyprian Chapel, where the path to Bagni di Lavina Bianca branches off. We walk uphill along a small road and past the Weißlahnbad and Pine restaurants. After a section in the forest the snow-cleared road ends at a fork where we take path no. 6. We cross snowy meadows and a forest before arriving at the Trompedeller, Veralten and Pattiss farms above Tires where we follow path no. 4B to the right.
This snowy path climbs uphill through the forest until the St. Sebastian chapel, an idyllic small church in a snowy clearing. We continue to ascend along a short section until we arrive at a crossroads where the Wuhnleger path leading to the eponymous Wuhnleger Pond branches off. The peaks of the Catinaccio group are reflected in the water of the lake and give this place a magical atmosphere. This body of water is fascinating also when frozen.
We head towards the Catinaccio and soon we descend to Bagni di Lavina Bianca and San Cipriano where our winter hike ends.
