The idyllically located mountain hut at the Hofer Alp is open in winter from Christmas to the carnival holidays and represents a beautiful destination for a tour through the snow-covered landscape. Our hike starts at the parking space near the Moarmüller Mill, located along the road from Fiè allo Sciliar to Umes. We follow the trail no. 8 uphill towards the Hofer Alp. After 1.5 km we reach a junction: on the left there's the sledge run (no. 8), on the right a narrow trail proceeds straight up to the Hofer Alp (no. 8A).

If you don't pull a sledge, we recommend the shorter and steeper path no. 8A (if well-trodden) - it offers a wonderful view on the surroundings. The trail no. 8 is longer but easier to walk. The mountain hut at 1,364 m a.s.l. offers local dishes and a beautiful panoramic view towards west.
