The aroma of spiced hot apple and pastries, the warmth of mulled wine in cold hands and the festive lights are often accompanied by a few snowflakes at the "Bergler Advent". The small Christmas Market on the village square of Tires al Catinaccio takes place on two selected afternoons in December - once during Advent and once during the Christmas holidays - and is highly appreciated and well-attended by locals and visitors alike.
For 2025, December 6 and 27 have been chosen. Regional products and traditional specialities such as goulash soup and Christmas stollen are available, set against the impressive backdrop of the Dolomites and the Tires al Catinaccio Parish Church, as are handmade wool and wood products. In between, the sound of the accordion, often heard in folk music, fills the air: It was once popular as it was the first viable substitute for the bagpipes.
How to get there? You can reach Tires from Bolzano in just over half an hour with the public bus service 185, or from Siusi, Fié, and Bagni di Lavina Bianca with service 176. The bus stop is called Tires, Piazza Fontana. If you come by car, you can leave it at the Piazza Fontana car park.
