Tradition and culture

Many customs and traditions have stood the test of time in the area of Alpe di Siusi, as they were passed on from generation to generation.

Today, like also many years ago, culture and customs are of utmost importance to the inhabitants of Alpe di Siusi. A series of associations provide for the maintenance of ancient tradition and liven up social life in the villages.

On certain feast days people also wear their traditional costumes. An event called „Kastelruther Bauernhochzeit“, which means farmers’ wedding of Castelrotto, takes place every two years and makes you experience culture and tradition at close quarters. Also traditional dishes can be tasted on this occasion.
