Driving on the road from Fié allo Sciliar to Umes, we follow the signpost to the old Moarmüller mill (1,050 m a.s.l.), where we leave our car at the parking space. We hike upwards on trail no. 8 for some hundred metres until we arrive at a bridge on our left, which leads over the Rio di Fiè. From here, we follow the signpost "Laghetto di Fié" (Pond of Fiè) and trail no. 2, reaching the lake in about 15 minutes. On the terrace of the Hotel Waldsee we have a short coffee break before we walk around the beautiful little lake.

From the Pond of Fié, trail no. 1B leads us up to the Tuff mountain hut. It is a forest road without difficult ascents and accessible also for prams. The Tuff mountain hut (1,280 m) lies at the foot of Mt Sciliar, embedded in a beautiful landscape, and is a perfect destination for families since there are a big playground and some farm animals. After a short break we continue our hiking tour on trail no. 8B, leading us through the forest, until we cross the Rio di Fiè and reach the signpost "Migg Cave", where Franz Migg, a hermit, lived in the last century.

After having visited the cave we follow trail no. 8 until the Hoferalpl mountain hut (1,360 m). From here, we are hiking rather steeply downwards on trails 3, 8A and 8. After about 40 minutes from the Hoferalpl mountain hut we arrive at our starting point near the Moarmüller mill. This last section of our tour offers very beautiful views of the impressive Sciliar massif, Mt Croda del Maglio, the panoramic point Volsegg as well as the hamlets of Presule, Umes and Fié allo Sciliar.
