Sant’Antonio

In the west of the small church dedicated to St Anthony, there is the homonymous village that has attained considerable dimensions

On the road from Fiè to Siusi allo Sciliar, about 1 km north of Fiè di Sotto, you come upon a little church nestling on the right side behind trees. The chapel is dedicated to St Anthony, the Saint can also be seen above the church portal. Behind the St Anthony Church there are some farms and buildings, spread along the road to the Pond of Fiè and Fiè di Sopra.

Located on the sun-drenched slope along the left side of the road, however, the village of Sant'Antonio has attained considerable dimensions within the last decades. Today this hamlet at 880 m a.s.l. boasts already 400 inhabitants and has public transport links to the Alpe di Siusi Cable Car, to Fiè and Castelrotto. Moreover you can start hiking right at your doorstep and scale the Sciliar massif. Particularly pleasant for walks and promenading in spring and autumn, however, are the forests surrounding the Pond of Fiè.
