Völs St. Anton Fie Sant Antonio

Sant’Antonio

In the west of the small church dedicated to Sant’Antonio, there is the homonymous village that has attained considerable dimensions.

On the road from Fiè to Siusi, about one km from Fiè di Sotto, you come upon a little church nestling on the right side behind trees. The chapel is dedicated to Sant’Antonio, behind there are some farms and buildings, spread along the road to the pond of Fiè and Fiè di Sopra.

Located on the sun-drenched slope along the left side of the road, however, the village of Sant’Antonio has attained considerable dimensions within the last decades. Today this village boasts already 400 inhabitants and has public transport links to the Alpe di Siusi funicular, to Fiè and Castelrotto. Moreover you can start hiking right at your doorstep and scale the Sciliar mountain. Particularly pleasant for walks and promenading in spring and autumn, however, are the forests surrounding the pond of Fiè.
